What's Happening Friday Night in Southeast Texas?
ABRA Cadabra, an ABBA tribute band, plays the Jefferson Theatre, 345 Fannin Street in Beaumont, on Friday, September 18. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the show starts at 7:30. It's the band's first time at the Jefferson. Tickets are sold at the Beaumont Civic Center box office and through Ticketmaster, the venue's two authorized sellers.
The Beaumont Heritage Society opens its Crosswalks Downtown Walking Tour at 5 PM Friday. It runs Fridays and Saturdays through October 31 and covers about a mile, past the Kyle Building, the Petroleum Building, Antioch Baptist Church and The Copa. Tickets are $20, bought in advance at beaumontheritage.org, and the meeting spot comes with your ticket.
On the Lamar campus, Lamar volleyball hosts UL Monroe at 7 PM in McDonald Gym for its Red Out night, part of the Lamar Invitational. In Orange, the Vidor band Crossroads plays Tia Juanita's Fish Camp, 2900 West Sunset Drive, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM.

What Are the Free Things to Do in Southeast Texas This Weekend?
Saturday has five, and three of them are done by noon. The Beaumont Farmers Market runs 8 to 11 AM at the basketball pavilion of the Beaumont Athletic Complex, 6525 College Street, rain or shine. SNAP is accepted, and Double Up Food Bucks adds up to $30 for fruit and vegetables.
At 9:30 AM, free yoga meets at the Cattail Marsh Education Center, 4233 Babe Zaharias Drive, for an hour. Register free on Eventbrite and bring a mat; a few loaners go first come. Down on the coast, the Texas Adopt-A-Beach Fall Cleanup works Sea Rim State Park, 19335 South Gulfway Drive in Sabine Pass. Check-in is 8:30 AM and the cleanup runs 9 to noon. Gloves, bags and a hot dog lunch are provided, and park entry is waived for volunteers who register through the General Land Office's Eventbrite page.
In the afternoon, the Stark Museum of Art, 712 Green Avenue in Orange, hosts Home on the Range: American Stories of Art Crime from 3 to 4 PM. Dr. Laura Evans, author of The Atlas of Art Crime, talks stolen masterpieces and forgeries, then signs books, cash or Zelle. Admission is free. And the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, 500 Main Street in Beaumont, has Samantha Harrison's Land and Light on view, open 10 AM to 5 PM Saturday and always free.

Saturday on the Neches, at Lamar and on Pleasure Island
Neches River Adventures runs its public tour from 9 to 11 AM, leaving Collier's Ferry Park, 5390 Pine Street in Beaumont, for two hours in the cypress swamp. Adults are $26.50, seniors 65 and up $21.20, kids 4 to 12 $15.90 and 3 and under ride free, card only. The tour needs six bookings by 4 PM Friday to sail, and the next public tour after this one is October 3.
At Lamar University, the Department of Theatre and Dance holds National Dance Day from 10 AM to 5 PM in the wooded area behind the Hayes Biology Building and the University Theatre, 4400 MLK Boulevard, open to the public. Lamar volleyball plays Sam Houston at 1 PM in McDonald Gym.
In Port Arthur, the Trill City Car Show fills Pleasure Island, 1520 West T.B. Ellison Parkway, from 11 AM to 6 PM with cars, trucks, motorcycles, Slingshots and food trucks. Humidor Cigar Lounge hosts; questions go to 713-538-5087.

The Symphony of Southeast Texas Opens Its 74th Season Saturday
The Symphony of Southeast Texas opens its 74th season with The American Voice on Saturday, September 19, at 7:30 PM at the Julie Rogers Theatre, 765 Pearl Street in Beaumont. Narrator Jordan Williams speaks Lincoln's words over the orchestra in Copland's Lincoln Portrait, on a program with Barber's Overture to The School for Scandal, Bernstein's Overture to Candide and Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dances.
Tickets are $36 to $62, with senior pricing for 60 and up, at sost.org/tickets or the box office at (409) 892-2257. Seating is reserved first come, first served.

The park is open, with some trails and the primitive campsites closed after storm damage.
